Abbeyfield House Ottawa holds Open Houses on the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 2-4pm. Members of the community are invited to Abbeyfield to tour the facilities. Our cook bakes us a cake to have with tea, and we take groups of visitors around the house.

We have four open houses planned for spring 2008:

Thanks to everyone who made our recent jewellery sale such a great success!

In December we were very pleased to receive a $5000 "community Capacity Building" grant from the city of Ottawa to develop and begin to implement a communication strategy to ensure the community knows about Abbeyfield House. You will see one the results of their investment planted on our front lawn: a handsome new Abbeyfield House sign. Many thanks to the City of Ottawa for their generosity.

Volunteers are ALWAYS needed and welcomed at Abbeyfield. As we reach out to the community, we welcome you reaching out to us. Abbeyfield House runs on volunteer labour. Right now, too few people are trying to do too many things. We need help with promotion, fund-raising, house management and volunteer recruitment. Call the volunteer house manager at 729-4817!
