The Education Issue

In America, education is a highly sought after thing. In order to get a good job, get an education; in order to provide for your family, get an education; move up in social status, get an education. Everything is based on education. It the ultimate foundation of all citizens around the world, not just America.

But why is that in America teachers are treated so poorly? They have no voice or input on what goes on in their job. The standards, laws and pay are all decided on by people who have never stepped foot in the classroom. They are told what to teach, how much time they have to teach it, what their students must do to prove they have taught the material. Everything in education falls back on the teachers.

The teachers are the only ones being held accountable for anything. It is never the students’ fault for not passing a test, the teacher must have not done an affective job. Heaven forbid they look at whether the student showed up to school or let alone class. If they followed directions and payed attention while the teacher was trying to do their job. Or even if they cared whether or not they passed tests.

How is it that teachers have differentiated instruction shoved down their throats day after day, listening to how all students learn different but yet the only indicator on student success is a standardized test that does not take differentiated students into account!

Teachers are forced to come up with multiple lesson plans for the different students they hold in their classroom but they all take the same test. How is that helpful or insightful?

Back to the accountability aspect, parents are no longer accountable for their students. If there is a problem it is the teachers fault. It doesn’t matter that their child cannot behave or follow directions to save his life. I would love to send parents into a classroom for even an hour. Better yet, send those people making all the decisions into a classroom and base their job off how successful they are for the day.

For a job that the success of the entire population relies on, teachers are the most undervalued, underpaid, and under appreciated people. Next time before you go to blame the teachers, take a look at yourself and your child and make sure they problem doesn’t truly lay within.

Street Smarts

All over the U.S. areas are getting hit with a cold front that has brought anywhere from an inch of ice to seventeen feet of snow. Now, depending on where you live these are both cause for extremely dangerous road conditions, businesses and schools closing, and unfortunately idiots who think they are capable of driving through it when they are definitely not.

This over confidence is what causes road conditions to become increasingly worse. I do agree and understand that there are such things as accidents but then you have the complete opposite. People who think they are such good drivers that there is no need to head any warning or sign that posts dangerous conditions.

It is these types of people that cause a majority of the accidents on days like this. When these people get out they cause all sorts of damage. Damage to cars, lives, and even structural buildings.

Hopefully, when these very unfortunate events occur you or the person who has been found at fault has insurance to cover both the car damage and the damage caused to your body. After an auto injury, I highly recommend finding a chiropractor quickly! There are a lot of injuries that last for a long time after the accident has occurred and these can be handled by simply getting adjusted and receiving muscle stem therapy at the chiropractors office.

I received great references and had great experiences at Manley Chiropractic in Arlington, TX.  They handled the insurance part of my auto accident so well! And the care I received was top notch, as well as having an amazing staff that really shows you they care about each individual patient.

Even after my time being seen was up for my auto accident I continued to go. My insurance did not cover what I would have liked to, however, they do accept cash patients and the prices are extremely reasonable and definitely more than do able.

SO if you have found yourself victim to an over zealous driver or even simply just an accident make sure you take care of yourself. It really pays off in the long run.

A little American Arrogance

I was reading a blog post when I came across the UK version of naming the American States.  While Pretty comical, it was largely ineffective.  They got a few right mainly Texas or commonly labeled “oil” , California and a few east coast states.

So at least we understand where the oil comes from in the United States.  Its no wonder we won the revolutionary war.  So I immediately went for the arrogance of us being better than the UK in every way.

So where does that all come from.  Every wonder where all that pent up we are better than pretty much everybody attitude started.

Well I have no clue, but I know that we have pretty much better everything.  Better cars, limos, guns, teeth, and just about everything else.  That is not to mention we actually.

In fairness, I do have to give credit where credit is due.  Golf … You can have golf but pretty much everything else is better here.

I am not entirely sure where it starts but it is definitely there.  But it was an interesting thought to think about.  It keep me busy for the 3 hours I was stuck in traffic today.
